Coming in ImagePlay… 0.2?
I’ve already got two major new features for the next release.
- There’s a new effect selector interface which allows you to easily view effects by their categories (the screenshot shows effects in the “Blur” catagory). And I think it makes it much easier to switch between viewing effects or groups. Additionally, you can resize the effects list now! This should fix several shortcomings of the effects selector at once.
- A new layer type: Text!! This is something that I’ve been wanting for a while. It’s not Pages or anything, but it’s still pretty nice to have free-floating text layers. And of course you can add effects to them just like with any other layer.
My goal for version 0.2 is to have text and shape layers. So maybe we’ll be seeing 0.2 sooner than I expected! After I get this all down, the next thing is to add grab handles for layers. This would make layer manipulation much more natural than fiddling with sliders.
