You don't need to open any incoming ports. ChitChat uses outgoing ports 80, and 8001 or 8002, to connect to Yahoo.

If it still won't let you on you may wish to try Charla or Adium

Hope that helps,
Tomis

Hello there. A question about Lite.

Several versions of Chit Chat, and Lite fail to complete log in on my system. This leads me to believe that there is a nessesary port thats closed. Are their any ports that I should check on the system firewall or in my router?

Thanks

Hello there,

OK, I have a question for you about ChitChat and Lite. I am unable to use either program. When I log in, they claim "logged in..." and rotate the chat servers. Neither one is ever able to complete log-in. Now, because this has happened with multiple versions, and with your competitor Charla, I imagine that this is a port issue related to either my system or my router. Is there a port that I need to verify is open in order to complete the log in; a reply that the programs are waiting for but can't get because the port may be shut down?

Thanks
