ImagePlay Progress

Filed under: In Development

Well I’m getting close to the next release. Just making sure I’ve got as many bugs fixed as possible now.

There’s some new stuff:
* full layer effects (limited to 2 prechoosen effects, i may open this up later)
* basic movie support (one movie per project)
* guided tour
* help system

And a bunch of optimizations and bug fixes:
* layer positions remembered now
* The canvas uses recting instead off redrawing the entire thing every time a layer needs to be redrawn.
* Issues with palette; positions, appearance, issue with popup menus on macosx.
* Fixed a number of issues on windows.
* and more…

ImagePlay Help

Filed under: In Development

I just got the ImagePlay help system done. It’s based around a private webserver that runs inside ImagePlay and only serves pages to the local machine. It works pretty good, even has search functionality.

I’ve cleaned up alot of the MS Windows bugs too, so unless I hit a sticking point, the next release should have a windows version as well. The current windows version is really buggy.

ChitChat Lite 1.0.1

Filed under: New Release

ChitChat Lite 1.0.1 released today.

It fixes some annoying bugs with the user list, and cleans up the login window a little bit. When I’m able, I’ll make a universal binary.

ChitChat is a Yahoo! chat client.

ImagePlay progress

Filed under: In Development

My main project at the moment is ImagePlay.

I’ve been working on a great new feature called “layer effects” (need to find a better name). Essentially they’re effects which affect both the layer’s mask and surface. This is really cool as you can see in the screenshot.

Hey there!

I plan to use this as a forum for discussing new software releases and development ideas as I work on new versions of my programs. You can check out a few of my current programs in the links section.

I’ve been using REALbasic for about 8 years now. My most recent projects have all been open source.
